The project in a nutshell

In January 2024, we set ourselves a new challenge : touring French-speaking Belgian newsrooms to better understand their specificities, explore the many facets of journalism, and examine the role media plays in our society. An exclusive immersion into a world whose inner workings are often little known, and a chance to meet those who, day in and day out, tell other people’s stories. We called this project Dans la Rédac” !

And one thing’s for sure: despite Belgium’s small size, its media landscape is incredibly rich. There are no fewer than 250 media outlets across the country — from daily newspapers, radio stations, TV channels, and lifestyle magazines to sports, business, legal affairs, investigative journalism, slow journalism, celebrity news, social issues, consumer affairs, and more. A diverse offering, just like the many faces of the journalism profession.

Since then, we’ve released a first season featuring behind-the-scenes moments in the newsrooms of RTL info, La Libre, Sudinfo, BX1, Moustique, So Soir, and RTBF — followed by a second one ! In this new season, we met with journalists, presenters, and editors from Forbes, Nostalgie, Paris Match, Le Journal des Enfants, and more.
