The Fédération Francophone de Bowling (FFB) is the official organization that represents and promotes the practice of bowling within the French-speaking community. Whether you're a passionate player, a curious beginner, or a seasoned professional, the FFB is the go-to reference for everything related to bowling.
In March 2021, the Federation wanted to revamp its identity in order to attract new members. Our challenge ? To design a new logo : evocative, efficient, and instantly recognizable, while staying true to the Federation’s image. We came up with the idea of creating a logo inspired by the various trajectories a bowling ball can take down the lane before hitting the pins.
Whether it’s about stance, grip, spin, or speed—every bowler has their own technique, but the goal remains the same: to knock down all the pins. All these ball trajectories are illustrated within the shape of a bowling pin. This infinite-loop shape also reinforces the idea of an “infinite number of techniques” leading to the same result.
FSBF, French-speaking Bowling Branch, FFB, etc., many different names were being used to refer to the Federation. To ensure this new identity would be as impactful as possible, it was essential to establish a single, clear name that everyone could recognize.
After discussions with the Federation, we chose the name "Fédération Francophone de Bowling", which we directly integrated into the new logo and is now consistently used across all communication materials.
